Always known as 'Plum' (Miss Plummer) she was my much loved Nanny when I was very small and She looked after my brothers and I. In reality she was rock and mainstay of the whole family including my Father (a man who went through wives at a rate of knots and was unable to look after himself!!). She was the archetypal little old Lady who seemed to have been born Old. When she retired we discovered that she had also made a fortune on the stock market from a small amount of money given to her by a family she was employed by before the 2nd world War.
